Congratulations Brent Longstaff!

Kapiti Coast Real Estate Agent, Brent Longstaff spent more than sixteen months looking for a home that met the requirements of one of his clients.

His perseverance paid off - and has earned him a KiaOraMai Awesome Service Award.

Remax Client Sally Coutts explains:

"In December 2008 I was wanting to shift out of the cold of Plimmerton to the warmth of the Kapiti Coast so visited two or three land agents with a welcoming and helpful attitude.
I called into Remax and met Brent Longstaff who said yes, he would look out for me. Also, I had some special requirements as I am totally blind with a guide dog, Vogue.
I required a two to three bedroom home, possibly with an internal garage as well as I weave and needed that for my large loom. One level, easy access to transport, preferably with footpaths, close to amenities, shops etc. Very low maintenance, small yard, fenced or could be fenced. And also facing North!!
None of this fazed him in the least. Well this man was just incredible. From that day on I could say every week he rang me saying either he had seen something but not quite right but may be worth a look and he picked me up from the station no problem, week after week.
This happened for approximately 6 months until I found a house I fell in love with but, approximately four months later, it was taken off the market. I was totally devastated - tears, the lot! And I just couldn't stand to stay another winter in the house I was in.
So, off he went ringing other agents and spreading the word that if anyone had a house like this, to let me know.
He took me, with other agents, to see homes - sometimes before I even got there he had realised the lack of sun or some other thing would not be suitable.
This went on till November 2009 when his co-worker rang him and told him of a home next to them that may just suit his client.
Brent rang, so excited. I walked in and that was it. I was not signed up till February 2010 - a long haul again, but finally I procured it. He had spent 16 months looking for me and nothing was too much trouble.
He really was just incredible, never lost contact or patience, which was amazing. And I must say, I never heard from any of the other agents.
Brent just went that extra mile and I cannot thank him enough for all his hard work. A Land Agent that goes that extra mile and also I must say, so totally honest about everything - warts and all"
