Congratulations Jeff Szelenbaum!
Jeff Szelenbaum is this month's winner of an Auckland Awesome Service Award.
He was nominated by client Shaun Austin:
“ In the early hours of the morning on Easter Monday my wife received a phone call from family back in the UK.
A close relative was gravely ill in hospital in Wales.
It was a public holiday and the start of the Easter Break from school. My wife and 5 year old son had to get back to Wales as soon as possible.
She called the Flight Centre 0800 number shortly after 8.00 am to try to find out when branches might open on Easter Monday.
Jeff answered and when my wife explained that we had a family emergency he very quickly put her at ease and told her that he could book tickets for her there and then.
Jeff was very caring and very efficient and he managed to find two seats for later that day!
He confirmed the details by email but when he tried to book them, only a few minutes later, the flights had gone, leaving only business class seats at 4 times the cost!
My heart sank and I thought that it would be at least another 12 hrs. before they could get some seats at an affordable price.
He remained calm and told me that he would try to get them on the flight.
A short while after, Jeff called to confirm that he had indeed managed to get them on to the very busy flight.
Not only that, he managed to get a very good price as well.
Throughout the entire transaction, Jeff was calm and organised and was very understanding regarding my wife's anxiousness to get back to her family.
Jeff followed up by organising travel insurance whilst we were on the way to the airport. With them safely on the flight, I called Jeff to thank him for his help and professionalism.
His product and systems knowledge, together with his calm manner, had made me feel as though I was dealing with a seasoned professional.
Jeff is a great credit to Fight Centre, (who we have always used for our flights) and I have no hesitation in nominating him for this award.”
